Week 14: April 23rd –April 27th Hours: 8

I monitored an interview of a student about the CHOP on Monday while two other interns worked behind the camera.  It was yet another blessing to hear how God has been using this CHOP building on campus to move people’s hearts.
Later in the week, I brainstormed new designs for CRM’s “thank you” cards.  They’ve had the same one for years and wanted a new look.

I have a total of 151 Hours as of today.  Within a few days’ time, I will fulfill the internship requirement.

Week 13: April 16th –April 20th Hours: 13

Finally gathered all the photos and uploaded them on CRM’s vimeo account.  I met a lot of difficulties trying to find the lowest best quality to export it on so that it wouldn’t take so long to upload.  I ended up having to leave my computer on for an hour or two for it to upload this one; it was all worth it.  The most trouble I had was learning how to convert video formats so that it would be compatible with vimeo.
Later in the evening on Monday, we set up light the 3 point lighting system and camera to prepare for an interview for our upcoming CHOP mini-documentary.  I oversaw an interview of a fellow student involved with the CHOP while Ivy and Kimberly monitored the whole meeting.

Week 12: April 9th –April 13th Hours: 11

I started gathering photos that were taken by us interns of Rez Week 2012.  I began compiling and editing through photos for a slideshow that would recap this week long celebration we had.  A big part of this was waiting on people to respond and turn in photos.   I also gathered photos from people outside of the media department.

Week 11 April 2nd - April 6th Hours: 12

After I spent some time cleaning up the CHOP, I made a quick FB event photo for open mic night.  The event’s purpose was to raise money for CRM and also for students to just enjoy a night of music and fun.  A line of 8 different performances were listed on a sign in sheet. There were poetry reading, duets, violin solos, guitar and singing duos too. I also played with a friend of mine on the guitar and piano.
The next day, we cleaned up the CHOP because it’s been a week of Rez Week and we had used all the furniture that was inside the building for Rez Week prayer tent, which was outdoors.  We learned to really care for the people and this CHOP place during this internship; wiping windows was yet another opportunity to serve one another.
I started to gather all the tapes we had used to record worship and messages later on in the week.  We were told to capture all videos in order to upload them onto the web for the public.

We fellowshipped with each other and ate lunch together on Friday to end the week!

Week 10 March 26th-30th Hours: 17

Monday morning was spent compiling the animated portion of the promo video with a clip from the Rez Week 2012 speaker, Trent Sheppard.  I learned to effectively edit and mix a/v in respective programs such as AE and Premiere.  I finally uploaded it onto Youtube for the public and it’s posted on the FB event page.
I took photographs to document and oversaw a/v recording of the events tonight.  Every night spent taking photos were really valuable experiences for me as I learn to discern when the most opportune and most respectful time to take pictures in front and behind the stage.  I’ve gotten better at choosing certain time periods throughout the event to document.  The limited times have challenged me to excel in taking good photos. I also had an abundant amount of practice to use my camera.  The event is held in front of the Gregory Plaza; hundreds of students plus faculties came out the first night.  I helped tear down a/v equipment and the large monitor screen as the night drew close.
Earlier in the evening when the event just started, we left our on board microphone back at the CHOP so I was asked to retrieve it.  I had just come back from West Campus about 10 minutes before.  I’m more convinced that my love of working here isn’t only because of the skills but largely due to how it enables me to realize what my heart is like behind the scenes, behind all the glamour and knowledge.  And to have the joy of knowing that God sees every little thing and therefore it counts!
I manned the main camera in the center back of the plaza that oversees all of the stage.   I sat for two hours recording while also participating in the worship and message.  Thursday and Friday morning/afternoon I took pictures of day events such as lunch and coffee house performances.
